The Healthcare Common Prodecure Coding System (HCPCS) is a collection of medical billing codes that represent procedures, supplies, products and services provided to Medicare and Medicaid patients and to individuals enrolled in private health insurance programs. HCPCS codes cover those procedures, products, and services not covered by CPT codes, including durable medical equipment (DME), prosthetics, ambulance rides, and certain drugs.
